An important thing to remember on a journey to learn code is this: It's not easy. But it can be done. The thing thats been holding me up for years is staying in what they call "Tutorial Hell" which is where the learner goes through a tutorial (or many in my case) and doesn't know how to advance from the basics into an intermediate level of coding knowledge. Another name for this stage in a coding journey is the "hand-holding honeymoon", so called because of the tendency many tutorials have to make it look easy until they drop you and you don't know what to do next.
the below picture illustrates the relationship between the level of confidence in coding ability and the actual coding and the actual coding competence.
as of August 2026, I am just entering the "Cliff of Confusion".
